With so many different kinds of parents, why should there be only one type of class? 

The Active Parenting of Teens program is presented in the following based upon your needs as a parent:

  • A comprehensive, 6 session course( two-hour session) on parenting teenagers and 'tweens.

  • A two-part class, each comprised of 3 sessions. Complete the first class and then the second as a follow-up later in the year. 

  • A 4-session class for basics + in-depth skills practice.

  • A 2-session unit focusing on alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs (ATOD) prevention, plus sexuality.

Family units have the potential to exist in fullness.

The Incredible Years evident based parenting programs focus on strengthening parenting competencies and fostering parent incolvement in children's school experiences, to promote children's academic, social and emotional skills and reduce conduct problems. The parenting programs and grouped according to age: babies(0-12 months), toddlers(1-3 years), preschoolers (3-6 years), and school age (6-12 years).

  • Parent groups are delivered in 12-20 weekly group sessions of 2-3 hours (specific length varies depending on which parent program is being implemented.)

  • Group sessions focus on: strengthening parent-child interactions, nurturing relationships, reducing harsh discipline, and fostering parents' ability to promote children's social, emotional, and language development. â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹

   

 

Note: Parenting classes can be given individually or in groups
